Five months (and still waiting) to cancel a contract

I've been trying to cancel a data contract I have with Telkom since January this year. They acknowledged my cancellation request on February 9th, and gave me a Case Ref. No. ********** 7. It's now July and they still haven't cancelled the contract!

I no longer live in South Africa, and am still being billed each month.

I honestly can't believe this. The Consumer Protection Act gives 20 business days as the time period needed for a consumer to cancel a contract - and Telkom drag it out for five months and counting. What do I need to do to cancel this?

Hi Launa,
This is pretty much the same feedback I have received every other time I have followed up on this - and nothing ever happens.
When exactly will the cancellations department make contact with me? And how, seeing as I am no longer in South Africa and am not contactable on my South African number. The fact that Telkom has ignored my cancellation request for over five months is a serious Consumer Protection Act issue.
I don't want another apology or another meaningless reference number - I want my contract cancelled, five months ago!
