Faulty Sim Card

On the 2nd of February my Telkom issued simcard stopped working, my phone could nolonger read it.

I later went to the Telkom Mobile store in Alberton after testing another simcard on my phone to ensure it was not the device that was faulty.

Though telkom mobile agent confirmed that some of thier simcards are faulty and tend to die they charged me R35 to replace my sim card.

Considering all data on stored on that sim was lost, why did I have to pay R35 for something that was issued to me underlying issues?
