Faulty router no Telkom shop

I logged a call on the 4th of September about a persisting problem that our internet line keeps on "dropping". Not like normal, but in such a way that the routers lights are all on but we cannot do anything on the internet. 62CEK020917. After the matter was not solved I logged another call on the 25th of October 151CEk251017. On the 27th I received a progress report that the technician is working on it. On the 28th I received a mgs saying Telkom will attend to our fault shortly. on the 31st of October our modem has stopped working. no Lights no nothing. I again tried to log a call but received a MGS on the app that I call has already been logged. I then phoned Telkom and they said that everything has now been restored and that the Technician was at my house to fix the problem. I explained to them that no one was at my house and that the router is faulty. I received an MGS saying they are busy investigating the cause of the problem and a tech with phone me. The technician phoned and tested the line and modem. He then confirmed that the modem is faulty and needs to be replaced. I asked him how long would I need to wait and he said that I just take it in to the Nearest Telkom shop and they will replace it as it is not even 3 months old. SO MY PROBLEM IS the closes Telkom shop is more than a hour away from our town. I had to drive R200 petrol out just to find out that I need a reference number and no calls were logged by technition saying what the problem was. This morning I phoned the Telkom service department and they could not help me with a reference number because the computer was not working. They would phone me back within 15 minutes with a reference number. Have not received any calls or reference numbers yet. I have taken off work to sort this out. Have driven another R200 worth of petrol out. and if I am not getting my router today it would mean that again I need to drive all the way through ones they can assist me. This is R600 worth of petrol for a modem exchange not even all the telephone calls and have to sit and wait untill someone can assist. Eventually when I receive the modem, I would have to log a call for a technician to do the setup again which takes about weeks. Why cant there be Telkom representatives in Humansdorp or the technicians..... why cant they have spare routers with them. Why is it the customers problem ! oH PS I forgot to mention. after my telephone call to Telkom this morning, I received an SMS saying the problem was restored. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP.
