False advertising and pathetic customer service

I app**** for the Black Friday modem promotion for R150. A week later I get a call saying it was successful and only a credit check was required for my application to be complete. Upon giving all my details, the system went offline and the Telkom representative said she would call me the next day. The next day, I receive an email saying I should call 10213 and use the promotion code 4562. Every day for about a week and a half I tried calling that number to no success - I was on hold for at least 10 minutes and up to 35 minutes each time. Eventually a different reprentative called me and said the promotion is no longer valid as there is no stock and he can offer me something else. I then spoke to his manager, Miriam Adam (if I remember her name correctly) and she said the the promotion was only for the 1st 1000 customers and people were randomly picked to complete the application. I questioned on the random selection and if that were the case, how was it my fault that the application couldn't be completed because their systems were down. The only way I'm willing to accept not getting the deal is if my application was unsuccessful due to my poor credit record which I know will not be the case. I also told her that I'm willing to wait until Telkom gets stock - even if it only comes in January next year. The lady said she would make sure it's taken up and someone would get back to me that same day. It's been 2 weeks already and I haven't heard a word from anyone.
