**** Iphones
<p>I thought I was getting a great a deal and took an iPhone 6s Plus with Telkom in 2016 July. I noticed that I had to charge it more than three time a day and when I took it back I was told the phone wasn't LTE enable and that's why it had a weak battery.</p> <p><br /> Nobody had told me I was taking a 3G phone and I accepted responsibility of not reading the fine print, still you would assume that 3G phone would have a longer battery life than a 4G phone and never did it cross my mind that a service provider could be issuing a 3G smart phone.</p> <p>This year in July the camera froze and only the selfie lens works on and off. I took it toTelkom mobile in Pinetown and was told they couldn't offer me a loan phone while mine went for repairs and was advised to go to a bigger mall.</p> <p>I went to Galleria Telkom and was told Telkom mobile doesn't offer loan phones and that Telkom only has one year warranty on the device and unfortnately that has lapsed and they couldn't assist me.</p> <p>Telkom you are issuing **** phones and misleading the consumers, no battery life and 3G smartphone? How do explain the intermittent selfie lens and normal lens isn't working at all. And you ignore complaints </p> <p> </p>
Hi Nompumelelo.
We so sorry for your experience, and thank you for bringing this to our attention.
iPhone6s network technology is LTE standard. You can check the specs here
http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_6s_plus-7243.php and the battery difference is that when on 3G it uses less than when on LTE. They all have the same battery. The "s " on iPhone6s means "speed" which is an upgrade of iPhone 6 which also have LTE as standard.
(If you should go back to the shop and the person who was assisting still stands by his/her word then please report such person to a manager.)
You simply need to enable LTE by going to your SETTINGS, then CELLULAR then CELLULAR DATA OPTIONS, then simply select LTE under Voice and Data.
I have been using iPhones since iPhone3, my advise to you before spending money on repairs. Back up your phone via iTunes, it is very straight forward when you plug it to your pc.
After that do a clean installation via "Restore" on itunes. That option is also on itunes first screen when the phone is plugged in.
Once you have completed the restoration, restore your back up. That should get rid of all software issues.
Also remember the manufacturer of your phone is Apple, not Telkom, even though you got your phone via Telkom and so the more knowledgeble people in this regard is Apple and they should know if your phone is **** and should investigate how Telkom got their hands on **** iPhone while they are an approved reseller of some of Apple products. Please consult Apple as well, do not give up on this, you have a very good and powerful phone there and surely you paid a lot of money for it.
I will handover your query now to Telkom mobile to follow up on this query.
Kindly confirm your affected phone number, ID number and contact details. If you were given a reference number, please send it as well.
Make sure you select "Post a private reply" so that we can be able to view the information we are requesting.
Kind Regards
