Failure to Complete Cancellation / Trying to get money that is not owed

I have been trying to settle an issue with you guys since June 2018. I ended two day / night surfer simcards via Telkom / 8ta in October 2017, they were both on a month to month at that point cause the contract had expired years back.

Each simcard cost R299 per month. I sent through the cancellation form and was told via email from Telkom that they would proceed with the cancellation and remove me from collections. No more correspondence after that date, until June 2018 when Telkom started (without my consent) deducting large sums of money off my account.

After wasting many hours and airtime talking to Telkom (see my other hello peter compliants, complaints to your social media team on Facebook - all of which I had zero response from Telkom) and going to the police etc. Telkom told me that they had failed to cancel the contract on their side and to send through all previous correspondence, which I did.

Again, silence for months, then in December 2018 your Debt Collector, Debt-inc starts phoning me 10 times a day, both on my cellphone and at work, harassing me for over 10K that I owe Telkom. Literally, how can I owe this on a month to month contract that I ended via Telkom? I even have a response, in writing from October 2017 stating that Telkom would remove me from collections, no request or information was ever given to me saying I needed to pay any money, this was a month to month simcard I cancelled, there is no device attached to this etc,

Again I send through all the correspondence to Telkom and Debt Inc to prove that I in fact cancelled this contract back in 2017 and I owe Telkom nothing. Now I am phoned by Debt Inc and told that Telkom have kindly given me a "Credit" - and now I only owe R1,900 for a "cancellation fee"? Ridiculous, how can a R299 month to month contract require a nearly 2K cancellation fee? Also, why is there a cancellation fee when I was on a month to month contract? When I asked Debt Inc about this, the lady sounded shocked and unsure of how to respond. I have requested the invoice so I can determine what steps I need to take to put an end to this harassment. But its been two days and I am still waiting for you to send it to me. I would really appreciate if someone from Telkom could explain this so called cancellation fee to me because according to me and my records, I owe Telkom nothing. In fact, I believe it is me that is owed - an apology for the time and money I have wasted on Telkom's incompetency and very poor communication.
