Failure to cancel a debit order and expired contract despite numerous requests.

I have a telkom mobile contract which was to run for a duration of 24 months. This 24 Months finished in January 2018.

I requested a cancellation of the contract in person, completed the required forms, attached supporting copies of required documents in early March. Telkom however continued to debit my account, I called their telephonic contact centre and spoke to Andile Ncobo in April, who confirmed receipt of my cancellation forms and said that a cancellation will be done in 24 Hours and refund issued. This was not done. I continued to be debitted by telkom at the end of April, and once again contacted the call centre- this time I spoke to Moleki Mashapa on the 31st May, who once again assured it would be cancelled. It is now a further 2 weeks, and a total of 3 months of trying to cancel this contract and get a refund, yet I am getting nowhere, and all the while Telkom continues to debit my account every month. When one does a google search on 'cancelling a telkom contract' - it is clear that there are many who had exactly the same experience and are struggling to cancel completed contracts and to stop these debits. Never again will I sign up for anything with Telkom that involves a debit order.

Once again another debit went off from my bank account for this contract today. Nobody from Telkom has contacted me as response I received had promised. Calling Telkoms call centre is a minimum of a 45 minute ordeal - and usually only to speak to someone who has no clue about what to do- and only promises to 'escalate the matter'. NEVER AGAIN WILL I SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING WITH TELKOM.
