Failure to act on termination of services

I had requested for my ADSL service to be cancelled using the new online "cancellation" tool at one of my addresses. I had to go overseas, so was unable to verify that it was indeed cancelled, as I had credit to my account, so my bill appeared to be lower, only to find the very next month Telkom billed me R1400. almost R500 over my bill, as Telkom hadn't acted on the cancellation request I sent them.

I had not budgeted for the service still being active, and this will result in a late, or even non payment.

I am not happy with this, as I have usually always paid my bills on time, however due to Telkom's failure to act on my request, I have no other option.

Please for future references, don't include a cancellation option online, and stop customer service reps advising customers to cancel their services online, if the tool doesn't work.

I was advised to provide a reference number when I complained, however having expected it to go through, I didn't take the number down, and thought nothing of it,

Thanks

Reviewer Update
Still no response.... I have just found out that I'm still being billed for a 4mb data account, on the line, which I upgraded to 10 mb, as well as the 10mb data account. I have visited my bank, and I have instructed them to block any outgoing debt orders to Telkom from my account. I will not pay my bill until this matter has been resolved, I am on a sassa disability grant, and I can not afford the amount in the bill.
