Failed to transfer airtime balance of R 1498.50 moving to PAY AS YOU GO

Account No ********** 40001

My wife had a contract with Telkom for a cell phone on our landline and she enquired at Telkom Office in Kenilworth whether she could transfer the cell phone to Pay as you Go and that the artime balance would be transferred which was CONFIRMED by Telkom at Kenilworth Cape Town.

We went into Kenilworth Office on 5th June and completed a Consumer Request for Contract and Service Cancellation Form and dealt with CHAD DARIES who again confirmed that the airtime balance would be transferred. Furthermore the form makes it quite clear to TRANSFER THE BALNCE of R 1498.50 as at 05/06/17 to the cell phone as Pay as you Go.

The balance has NOT BEEN transferred as agreed with TELKOM and I spoke to somebody in Mobile phones at TELKOM this morning and they advised that no balances are normally transferred. SO if the form specifically STATES BALANCE TO BE TRANSFERRED WHY DID TELKOM bother to transfer the phone over. They should have at least told us and we would have delayed the trabnsfer until the balance was fully depleted.

PLEASE ARRANGE TO TRANSFER THE BALANCE of R 1498.50 to EITHER OUR LANDLINE ACCOUNT OR TO MY WIFE'S CELL PHONE

GRAHAM ELLIS

Dear Noleen, You sent this to your fulfillment team 10 days ago and still no reply. I intend to send my complaint to Jacqui O'Sullivan shortly if I do not get a suitable response OR I shall go and sort out Chad Dairies myself - which is it to be ? !!!!!

WOULD YOU PLEASE ESCALATE THIS COMPLAINT TO JACQUI O'SULLIVAN HEAD OF CUSTOMER COMMUNICATIONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Complaint to Telkom non-transfer of airtime – 1st July 2017

Account No: ********** 40001 Landline: 021 **********

Mobile: 081 **********

Case Numbers: 2 ********** HelloPeter Ref: A ********** 3

********** 65

I had a Contract Telkom Blackberry Cell Phone purchased through Telkom and linked to our landline since 2012. My wife Anne Ellis uses this cell phone.

She was contacted by Telkom that they wished to terminate the service and that she would have to transfer the phone from a contract to a Pay as You GO phone in order to retain the telephone number OR take out a new contract.

She visited both Telkom shops at Blue Route and Kenilworth and they both advised her that they would transfer the balance of airtime when she transfers to Pay as You Go.

So having had it confirmed by Chad Dairies at Telkom shop Kenilworth shop that the balance of R 1498.50 at 12.30pm on 5th June 2017 or the balance at the time of transfer of service would be transferred, we went ahead to complete the “Consumer Request for Contract and Service Cancellation” Form in front of Chad Dairies. I completed the Form and signed it as my name is on the account.

I attach a scanned copy of that Form and the email from Residential Fixed Retentions to Chad Dairies (Kenilworth), which clearly shows that the transfer of airtime balance would be transferred.

I received a telephone call from on 20th June to confirm my personal details and said that the transfer would take place in the next few days and I would be advised by an SMS together with a telephone number to make any complaints. No such SMS was ever sent to me. We only knew that the transfer had taken place when my wife tried to use the cell phone and couldn’t because she had no airtime balance !!!.

When the person dealing with the transfer read our form they should have contacted us and we would have stopped the cessation of service. We only cancelled the service as we were assured by three people within TELKOM that the airtime balance would be transferred to the cell phone.

Invoice 706C ********** j shows Telkom Mix – Saver 4 from 12 June to 11 July and yet the service was cut off on or around 22nd June 2017 !!!!!!

This comes after being cut off by TELKOM for 2 months last year due to Telkom taking down a telephone pole and it took two months to re-connect us.

Nobody also bothered to inform me that I would be unable to use FULL INTERNATIONAL ROAMING only SMS Roaming. This has been a dreadful experience as your staff do not seem to know what they are doing.

WOULD YOU PLEASE ESCALATE THIS MATTER TO MRS JACQUI O’SULLIVAN HEAD OF CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION AS I HAVE ASKED THIS TO BE DONE ON MANY OCCASIONS WITHOUT SUCCESS.

I AM STILL IN DISPUTE ON THIS ACCOUNT AND WILL ONLY PAY7 THE ACCOUNT LESS THE AMOUNT OF R 1498.50 UNTIL THIS MATTER IS RESOLVED.

I HAVE ALREADY PUT THIS COMPLAINT ON HELLOPETER AND HAVE ALSO BEEN ON CAPE TALK RADIO WITH KINO KUMMIES.
