Extremely Disappointed with Telkom’s Service and Misrepresentation 🥵
My experience with Telkom has been frustrating from the very beginning. I was sold an internet package without Telkom first confirming whether my area had adequate network coverage. This basic check should have been done before signing me up for a service that I am now struggling to use.
When I complained about poor connectivity and insufficient coverage, I was told that the problem could be that I was using a 4G router and that I should upgrade to a 5G router. Trusting the consultant’s advice, I agreed to purchase what I was told was a Telkom 5G router.
To my shock, I later discovered that I had actually been sold a 4G router while being led to believe it was a 5G device. When I returned to the store to raise my concerns, a different consultant told me that my connectivity problems were likely because I was using a 4G router; completely unaware that the store itself had sold me that router.
The irony and lack of internal communication are astounding. Not only was I misinformed, but I was effectively sold a product that Telkom’s own staff later identified as unsuitable for the service I was trying to use.
To make matters worse, I continue to experience poor network coverage and frequent periods where I have little to no connectivity at all. I am paying for a service that I cannot reliably use, and the support I have received has been inconsistent, misleading, and unhelpful.
As a customer, I expect honest advice, accurate information about products, and a basic assessment of whether a service will work in my area before being sold a contract. Unfortunately, my experience with Telkom has fallen far short of these expectations.
I would strongly caution prospective customers to verify coverage independently and to carefully check any equipment being sold to them before committing to a package.
In a nutshell – Poor service, misleading sales practices, and ongoing connectivity issues.
