Excuses, lost phone and no apologies

I upgraded my contract in November 2015 at the Telkom Direct Store at Kenilworth Centre Cape Town. My contract is in my Father’s name, so he was with me initially to complete all the forms, however when I collected my phone he was not with me, and I was merely given the handset, a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua. Worst mistake I made! The phone started giving problems in January, eventually by the end of March it died. Refused to charge, switch on, nothing. I lost work frantically trying to find a replacement phone. Eventually after my dad returned from a business trip I took the phone to that exact store and handed it in only to be told, that there is no record on their system of the upgrade, and after much dithering, because they remembered me, they booked the phone in anyways and I was smsed a reference on the 05 April: TRJ015067 and told us they would look for the paperwork at head office but to speed up the process, but I must bring in the papers that thy DID NOT give me. In a futile, but hopeful 3 full days of searching every s**** of paper in my home, my father’s home, and his office, there was no paperwork to be found. After between 16 and 25 visits to the store to be waved away, or told that there was no news, or that they would contact us while my dad is being billed over R600 every month for the R165 odd upgrade I selected…. I eventually dragged my very busy father in to the store this is the 06th of May, Only to be told in disbelief that the upgrade was not logged. This is speaking to the man that actually did the ****** upgrade in the first place. Eventually he did something which then miraculously showed that I was now upgraded, Even though I sent through an upgrade request on the 8th of the May via my phone and received an sms saying I was only eligible for upgrade 17th November 2017. Only then do we find out that my phone is only now going to be sent for repairs and was promised 2 weeks maximum … to my face. I visited the store regularly to be told that I would be notified. It is now the 15th of JUNE... yesterday I phone Telkom customer care line had my dad verify security and was kept on the line by a sweet wonderful person who tried very hard to make the bad news that there is no information about my phones whereabouts better. He sent through an urgent request for them to contact me, and yet noting. I believe it is Telkom’s policy that if it takes longer than a month for repairs you get a new device? I would like not only a new device, but a different one. Same contract price, whatever phone is eligible I will take it. I do not want to go through this nightmare again In 4 months’ time! I am beyond fed up. My dad has over 5 contracts and 2 ADSL lines with Telkom and this is the way we are treated. Not cool.
