Exchange Upgrade

I have been a Telkom customer for 4 years now with ADSL. We started out with 2MB ports at the exchange and then got upgrade to 4MB ports. I have encouraged everyone in Vrede to go with ADSL as it is more stable and reliable, which was my experience, but now the issues have started.

There are about 50+ ADSL users in our town, all on 4MB lines and for the last 7 months speeds have been pathetic, so much so that I log about 4-6 incidents a month, if not more. Speeds would be between 2.7 and 3.4Mbps for a couple of days and then would drop off to about 1.9Mbps.

The slow speed does not change until you log an incident or three and then a day or two later you get an sms that the service has been restored, but alas, nothing has changed.

I have enquired about the exchange and what we can do, when to my surprise, 75% of the agents at the telkom helpdesk replies with "Sir, we have no ADSL in Vrede". Why do I then pay a ADSL line fee and have a username and password???

I would like to know if Telkom has plans on upgrading our exchange or if I should make another plan for internet access. Businesses and users are struggling and the agents at the Helpdesk has no idea what is going on and what services telkom provides to users.

Last question: Why does telkom have two seperate systems on which they check ADSL availability?

I have attached a picture of my current line details.
