Our small town Telkom exchange server has now been faulty for more than 8 months, but seeing that we are only a few 100 users on the still copper, maximum 4mb line. Nothing is being done to fix or change the faulty exchange servers card that causes congestion. Telkom has been notified by several users already that we are experiencing slow speeds and paying for a service where you cant even load a simple web page & every time any complaint has been lodged Telkom closes it without fixing the problem ensuring that the other ISP providers does no extensive probing until a week or so later when the customer has to go through the procedure of lodging another call. Several people has left ISP's that they were using for several years to start using other alternatives just to have a proper internet connection. Businesses are also struggling with slow speeds, as well as the local school. The only thing Telkom has to do is change or upgrade the faulty exchange server card which will not take a long time, and this has been confirmed by several Open serve technicians but they said that head office are not authorizing them to do so.
