Exasperated Telkom internet customer
Where else in the developed world (sorry that is where we were 20 years ago) will a service provider like Telkom be allowed to continue rendering a service to the public? Reported on 21 September 2018 a problem with access to the internet e-mail server (Ref: ********** ) - can receive e-mails but no outgoing mails possible; can only sent mails via Zimbra. Telkom will refre to their technical Dept who will contact me; no call/ follow-up, etc. received. On 22 October 2018 reported that the problem still exists and that I need to use Outlook instead of Zimbra for various reasons (Ref: ********** 8). Telkom will follow-up with Technical Dept. and contact me on my cell phone, if necessary. No call/ follow-up, etc. received. On 26 October 2018 now also not receiving incoming e-mails on either Outlook or Zimbra. Contacted Telkom and was informed that the technicians have not had the time to attend to my issue(s). Asked for a reference: bluntly told to use the "old" reference. Moral of the story: start looking for another ISP and write off Telkom's inability to render a proper service as another glaring example of the destructive nature of transformation in South Africa.
