Elderly couple in desperate need of help...
A few months ago Telkom issued a D.link wireless landline with a sim card to my uncle. The device was recieved and all the instructions were followed. The same day the copper line was deactivated. The sim card that they issued my uncle with never worked. A thousand calls were made to Telkom to find out what exactly was wrong and all they did was activating the sim card on their side and told us to wait 48 hours. After 48 hours nothing happened. The sim still does not work. After going up and down from Telkom shop to calling 10210 an angent advised us that we need to go to a Telkom shop for them to do a sim swop. We went to the Telkom shop in Paarl mall and the Manager refused to allow the sim swop and told us that we need to call 10210 to find out why the current sim is not working. We drove 200km for nothing. We got home and called 10210 again. They activated the sim card again and said we needed to wait 48 hours. We waited the 48 hours and still nothing. We called Telkom again and they advised us again to go to a Telkom shop to do a sim swop. We went and the same manager refused to allow the sim swop and told us the exact same thing he did the last time. This time he gave us a referencer number. We called Telkom with the specific reference number and they couldn't resolve anything or give us any updates with regards to the reference. At the end of the call we were advised to go back to the Telkom store and do a sim swop. Telkom says that they can not do the sim swop via telephone and that we have to do it at a Telkom shop. The Telkom shop is refusing to do the sim swop and sends us back to 10210. If 10210 can't do it and the Telkom shop is refusing to do it, where should we go next. It has been more than 2 months and this elderly couple who has been loyal Telkom customers for so many years really can't go through such struggles. It is wrong.
Telkom please help them
