Dysfunctional ADSL WiFi Connectivity Being Disregarded

Our business pays R2500.00 per month for a 10MB ADSL line from Telkom. Current download speed is 1.74MB/S and upload speed is 0.22MB/S. Every click through results in WiFi connectivity dropping, so WiFi must be switched off then on again for every click through. Not every on/off action results in click through success. SMS fault reporting over 8 days ago provided a reference number. Despite this being an ongoing problem, not limited to the most current reoccurance of the problem, I confirm that I have had no phone calls, SMS updates or technical support forthcoming from Telkom. The seriousness of this dysfunctional service impact cannot be stressed enough to Telkom. It is negatively impacting my online business in the most detrimental ways possible.

PS. To give Telkom the benefit of the doubt, I have taken my MAC laptop into iStore on two consecutive occasions to ensure that the WiFi connectivity issue is not a technical one related to my WiFi settings on my MAC. I've been assured by iStore tech's that the problem rests with Telkom, which is why I've appealed for Telkom to arrange for a suitably qualified WiFi tech to come onsite and troubleshoot this problem.

This is the second entry I'm making, because my line dropped on publishing my first entry, and all my data was lost. Within 1 hour of me posting this review today, a Byte/Telkom rep was onsite to see what the problem was. The following was recorded in brief. a) The WiFi connectivity settings had apparently not been reconfigured following the replacement router's installation some time ago. Telkom Technical helped me to reconfigure the settings same date. b) The line was tested to confirm it is a 10MB line as contracted and being paid for. The test result (using a special app the rep had) shows I only have a 2.5MB line. During the testing of the line, my newly reconfigured WiFi connectivity dropped again, and the tech advised that would happen because he was on the line, and needed to loop test the whole line. Because the drop appears to have presented itself exactly how every other drop appears, I am suspicious that someone else is currently ***gybacking on my line, such that every time they go onto my line, I'm dropped off the line. c) Once the WiFi connectivity was reset today, I was also asked to switch the DLINK router off, so that the "ports could be recreated". The process was followed under the direction of a Telkom tech, but it failed to result in improved service. d) I want a Senior Telkom official to urgently address the following 1) Compensation / refund of the 7.5MB line size I'm not actually getting, despite paying for it 2) I want a detailed, independent diagnostics test of my line done, to ensure no one else is using my line 3) I want the WiFi drop issue resolved, completely. What was revealed to me today is deeply disturbing, that as a loyal consumer of Telkom, paying for a specific level of service, that I am not actually getting that level of service, though I'm being billed for it. That my throttled service is also in and of itself exceptionally slow and poor, makes the whole Telkom contract questionable.

Telkom Reference SM235685 Good day. I note Telkom's response same date. Following a reboot of the router, and retest of the speed, I can confirm that my line speed is satisfactory for the first time I am aware of. However, download speed aside, my upload speed remains at less than 1Mb and I need to receive an explanation as to why that is the case. Further, I still await answers to my questions about how many users are using my line, and what Telkom will do to compensate me for the lack of appropriate service historically. Thank you. Kind regards Heidi
