DSMS/ASSIA causing endless frustration

The ASSIA DSMS is ruining my online experience. Every day the line syncs at a different speed or at different interleaving depth levels. Bringing this to Telkom's attention simply yields a 'Port Reset' followed by closure of the fault.

I've tried telling them that ASSIA is unneccessarily applying interleaving and speed reductions to my line, but with no success. In the past I could request the line to be placed back on fastpath (Than you Charl!) and the line would run perfectly for days on end, until ASSIA kicks in again and just ruins my online experience (latency jumps from 10ms to 30-40ms resulting in a less than desirable gaming experience with my friends on CapeTown servers). Even LTE gives me a better online experience!

Now, the DSL line stats are as follows (40Mb/3Mb sync):

Downstream:

- Attenuation 6.6dB

- SNR: 21dB

- Interleave Depth: 2400 odd (2400 really ? thats just stupendously high)

Upstream

- Attenuation 1.2dB

- SNR 21dB

- Interleave Depth: 103 ( Also stupendously high )

When on FastPAth, the above SNR and attenuation figures stay the same, there are also not even one CRC error reported in days, yet ASSIA insists on messing things up.

Given the loop distance and excellent SNR figures (even at a 40Mbit sync), there really should be NO REASON WHATSOEVER for applying interleaving or dropping speeds. (I've had downlink speeds of 32MBit and Uplink speeds of 2Mbit...for what reason ?)

Now I surely hope this post reaches a competent person at Telkom that understands what's going on, because the guys I've dealth with lately, just don't have a clue. (At least Charl understood).
