Don't get a contract with Telkom; you won't be able to cancel it.

Why is it so difficult to cancel a contract with Telkom?

My aunt has been trying for two years to cancel her contract. When she called in to cancel it, she is told that she can't do it telephonically. I find it appalling that a telecommunications company can't handle a request to cancel a contract over the phone.

She is then told that she has to fill in a form and email it, which she does. This was done months ago. How long does it take to cancel a contract once the forms have been received? In the mean time, for every month that her request is blatantly ignored, she is being charged for a contract that she can't even use anymore.

Telkom, are you doing so bad financially that you have to ***** from a pensioner?
