Don't Bother With Telkom

I have been with Telkom for the past 2 years. 2 years of erratic internet speeds at a high price. So, eventually I found a different and more affordable ISP. I called Telkom to cancel as I am on a month to month contract, and asked them to put my line in a holding pool for the ISP I was set on. Telkom told me that I was in my 30 day notice period and that I would have internet with them for the next 30 days following which I could then transfer to my new ISP. Then, all of a sudden (almost immediately), my internet was cutoff. In trying to resolve the matter, I was taken from pillar to post with different reasons for my lack of internet being given to me. Eventually Telkom sent a technician to my house, who told me that my router was at fault. I called the router manufacturer to try and resolve the matter, and discovered that my router was still in great condition, and working. I called Telkom again, and they told me that my TIN number was cancelled. I was directed to call Sales in order to reinstate it. I called sales and they told me to talk to customer service. When I explained that I was being shuttled between customer service and sales, the lady on the other end of the line told me that I was told the wrong thing all along, and that I would actually be inconvenienced for 30 days. Meaning, I would have to wait for 30 days with no internet, just because I wanted to go with a different ISP who is offering a MUCH BETTER deal at a higher speed. I have nothing positive to say about Telkom at this stage. Their service in terms of speed and connectivity has been erratic and slow. Trying to go with a different service provider while keeping their line has been a nightmare. A nightmare in which I, a small business owner, am expected to forfeit my internet for a month. I certainly do not recommend them, and never will. In fact, I have now opted to go for LTE, as even their telephone line was just terrible, and had the static sound whenever I made calls. That is all.
