Domestic voice and internet services down for 2 weeks

I logged 2 service requests (604CWK241116, and 89CWK051216). The former was closed despite the services NOT being restored (I informed Telkom as such in their feedback mechanisms - sms, website, call centre). The latter is still open today (09Dec2016). Despite 2 email complaints asking for a status update on the latter request, a reason for the prolonged disruption, or the expected duration of the outage, there has been absolutely no reaction. As a result I am now incurring higher costs having to use MTN for voice and internet services. Needless to say, a Telkom invoice arrived on time! With the world increasingly moving towards digital products and services, shouldn't these service providers be obligated to state service level agreements and where these are transgressed incur penalties like, for example, 5%, 10%, etc. discount on the next month's account?

Thank you Moenieb. You've probably dealt with MANY frustrated Telkom customers today, and I hate to add to your list but you'd really make my day if you could help me solve this problem. This is the middle of the 3rd week of this disruption, and Telkom cable-theft is not a new phenomenon in the country. How come Telkom cannot make an estimation of the time to repair its ****** cables?

Another week has passed (3rd week) and still no service - voice or internet - as well as no comunication on when the services are expected to be restored.
