Do we need to make "friends" to get an iphone 13 pro max at Telkom The Glen?

When I went to purchase an Iphone 13 pro max on contract in December 2021 at the Glen, the sales rep told me that in order to get the device I need to "speak" to a sales consultant because once stock is received the sales rep give preference to their "friends" so in order to reduce my waiting time, its best for me to speak to someone. The guy that told me all this doesnt permanently work there. He did however assist me in logging a complaint about my network issues in my area.
