DO NOT TAKE OUT A TELKOM CONTRACT. CHEAP DATA IS NOT WORTH THE STRESS
I am still getting billed for Telkom contracts that I cancelled in March and April as I wanted nothing further to do with Telkom and its bad service and incompetence. Luckily for me both contracts came to full term and I exercised my right to cancel instead of renew. Instead of Telkom leaving me alone it keeps billing me for these cancelled contracts and now I have an adverse listing on my credit profile saying I am in arrears for 4 months. Telkom suspended my services prior to my cancelling because I refused to allow for the ************ tendencies. Telkom introduced an app manual payment thing and I used it for the first time in Dec with no issues so in January/February I used it again next thing on the 1st (debit order date) the debit order went off when I called Telkom they refused to reverse it and told me my next bill will go off against that amount which I refused. When I saw they had no intentions of reversing my money back I called my bank to reverse the debit order because I was not going to pay for the same service twice. Next thing Telkom starts threatening to suspend my service saying I owe them R200 and something for a bounced debit order... yes, the same one I paid manually and they still debited my account with and expected me to let them keep my money and for me to pay for the same service twice. I called them numerous times to fix this instead I was met with rude staff who simply told me the debit order bounced and I owe Telkom R200 and something because debit order was dishonoured. They tried to take the money off my account so many times and I had to reverse it each time until I got tired and changed my account number as reversing those amounts was costing me to. The other thing Telkom does is charge excessive amounts for bounced debits, surely there is a limit. Last year they were charging around R300 for a bounced debit mind you my bill was R798 combined, in 2016 it was R130 and this year around R220. Surely, they cant just decide willy nilly on the amount to charge, also do they have even have the right to charge for a bounced debit? What is suspicious is that the amount for this bounced debit changes which has me thinking what are they exactly reporting it as for tax, shareholding etc reporting purpose if they are not honest with reporting it on our invoices? something needs to be done with Telkom, They cant continue operating like this and I swear the day they close shop I will slaughter a sheep and pop champagne because it will be good riddance to *******, **** ***********, rude and bad service *******. the only thing they have going for them is cheap data and no amount of cheap data makes up for the drama you will go through and the fact that they ignore you. They will issue case number and next thing months later you get a message saying case resolved, that time you not even sure which case they are speaking of because you have logged so many and none have been resolved. I just want Telkom to rectify this and remove their name off my credit profile.
