Do NOT sign any LTE contract with Telkom! Go to Afrihost instead - same deal, cheaper, no contract.

I have been on the Telkom LTE 20+20 deal for a year now, paying R499 per month. New customers on the identical deal pay R299 per month. I understand the reason for a contract (it is to cover the included modem costs over 2 years) - but surely if data prices drop significantly, the benefit should filter doen to existing contracts? I am now stuck on being ********** by R200/month for the next year. When I phoned customer service to complain about the discrepancy, an extremely rude agent by the name of Adam could not give me a reason why I should stay a Telkom customer when the contract runs out and hung up in my ear (NOTE: I was not rude with him, I just asked uncomfortable questions). Afrihost offers the same LTE deals as Telkom, at a lower price, and do not bind you in any contract. Why can't Telkom do the same?
