Do not get involved, even on month to month basis

Telkom decided not to replace an allegedly ****** telephone line, while not even informing me that the line is ******. I logged 3 calls, the last one still pending since 2019-08-15. In the interim I am being charged for line rental, adsl 10mb etc. I was in credit for R904-00 when i reported the 1st fault. That was in July. When i want to follow up, i get a message that my information cannot be retrieved at present..please try again - seveal times. I've send 7 e-mails , phoned and talked to Nokukanya online..kept e-mails, screenshots of chats and fault logs. I was amazed when told I must request cancellation of the service online and then it must be a 30 day notice period...still for my account, as if it my choice to not have the service. I was not told by any of their technicians what the problem is. Why keep on sending technicians if they know why they dont render a service and dont plan to fix the problem. They are phasing out copper and not replace without informing me, but I must give them notice or keep on paying. If this is not *****/theft i dont know. A misrepresentation was done and as a client I had a right to know when the 1st technician came out so I could consider my options. Now I am offered a different service, after more than 2 months without internet and informing them on 4 Sept that i want to change to LTE with msg once a week that they will contact me. Up to today I was not contacted. Was forced to do online cancellation request today, as i was told the account is still active untill I do the request. Seriusly, how is this legal or possible? I could not understand peoples complaints about Telkom untill the frustration of the past two months. Please,i was on month to month, no contract. They do not inform you the reason for failure to render a service but will keep on charging you. Do not resolve the issue and technician left fault report pending since 15 Aug. Who must report the service inactive?? The technician or the client with no information? Luckily i did not have a debit order, as it could have been a lot worse. If their continued billing affect my credit record, it will be a new fight. Luckily there is screenshots, e-mails and call recordings at our disposal now.
