Disspassionate big corporation

Telkom, supposedly the largest communcations provider in South Africa, with minimal concern for its customers.

I recently took out the R599 4MB uncapped Internet bundle with Telkom and the first bill I received was for double the monthly instalement. I, as any good customer would, called in to 10210 to ask the consultant if there was a possibility if I could pay the 1 R599 and then make an arrangement to pay off the other R599 in 3 months, meaning R200 extra per month ontop of my normal monthly payment. The consultant said it would be in order and that he'll get someone in the finance dept to call me about finalising this arrangement. this was last week Friday.

Today I get a call from the Finance dept telling me I cannot make the arrangement as the policy states I have 15 days in which to make the full payment. When asking for a supervisor I was told to take the number of the supervisor and call myself, to which I refused and said the supervisor can call me. Why should I use my airtime (that I buy from you mind you) to call this supervisor?

SO, Telkom!! Here is my issue with you! Firstly, really! your policy does not allow people to make an arrangement to pay off an amount after being billed double? (I am not interested in your explanation as to the double billing, so save yourself the time by explaining it) Secondly, does your company even care about us as the clients? Do you know the daily struggle it is that we have to endure with budgetting for every single expense? Do you care? Or are you one of those conglomerates whose only concern is bottom line?? "***** the customer, as long as our bottome line is in order!!" This is the message I am getting and, is this really the message you want to send?? I have been a customer of yours for over 5 years, check your records to see where I have caused grievous malfeasance with the conduct of my contracts with you!

So I ask you, why? Why impose this policy on people who are willing to make payments?

I am still awaiting a customer service agent from your accounts team to contact me.

In good faith I have held up my end of the bargain in paying the current amount due + 1/3 of the double billed amount.

Paid from FNB, you can use Trace ID 9LT83NKD for proof of the payment.
