Disorganized, unprofessional and utterly putrid customer service

I logged a call with Telkom on 11 November 2016 – due to my ADSL line being inactive. As in the line was completely dead. A week passed, still no resolution. So I called in again and they “escalated” my query. I was further advised by the call centre agent that the technician would call me in the event he needed access to my premises if that’s where the fault was located.

More time passed, still nothing. So I called in again. They said a technician was assigned that morning to the project. More time passed. Still no resolution. I called again on the November 29 and again I was told that a technician was assigned that morning to the call. Again I was told that the call centre consultant was making a note to inform the technician to contact me if he needed access to my premises. No call came. But still there was no resolution.

Today, I get a phone call from my complex that a Telkom technician is there and needs access to the complex. No arrangements were made with me. The technician took it upon himself to determine that the property would be freely available to him.

I have not had use of my line for almost an entire month and yesterday I was billed in full by Telkom. This is theft! Telkom is taking money without providing a service or the proper rectification of a faulty service!! That is tantamount to literal theft.

Furthermore, I called the call centre to get some assistance and all I was told was basically – “sorry, just call the technician to get another appointment. We can’t help you.” This type of unapologetic abuse from Telkom is by far the worst customer service and the worst of the worst when it comes to the competency of fault finding on a simple ADSL line. Purely and utterly disgusting!!!
