Disgusting service
I have a Telkom router and data contract for which I get 20 gigs of data each month. On the 5th of September 2017 I could not access the internet as it said I had run out of airtime. I called the call centre because there is no ways that I could finish my data within 5 days and was assisted by a lady who informed me that I still had about 19 gigs of data left and that I should reset my router. I did as I was told and the internet was back on. I however did not browse for long.
Today (6 September 2017) the same thing happened and I again called the call centre at around 21:00. This time I was "assisted" by a guy who first introduced himself as "Evans". The service I got from "Evans" was totally terrible, disgusting and unacceptable. "Evans" told me that the information I had received the previous day regarding the 19gigs was a lie and came up with some story about my data being consumed while I was out of the house. According to this "Evans", apparently I had used up my data on Saturday the 1st of September. I told "Evans" that this could not be true because there was no one in the house at during the time he alleged that the data was used. He continued to tell me that even if he wanted to help me he cannot even open a case for investigation because my story somehow lacked credibility. I kept telling him what had happened the previous day but that fell on deaf ears.
After a long back and forth with "Evans" I finally asked that my call rather be transferred to someone else who could help me since he was not interested in assisting with my query he told me I cannot be transferred and should rather hang up and call again (and stay on hold for another 10 minutes). I refuse to believe that a calls cannot be transferred from one agent to the next in this day and age and especially in a company as big as Telkom, even small companies can transfer callers. With that being said, I proceeded to ask for a call reference to which he objected telling me that Telkom does not have call reference numbers and that I should use his name and surname. I asked what his name was and it then miraculously changed from "Evans" to "Vusi Dlamini".
I find this type of behaviour absolutely despicable. This "Evans" or "Vusi Dlamini" is very sarcastic. He belittled my query, is very *********** and and seeks to drag Telkom's reputation down the drain with his repulsive attitude towards consumers. The fact that he used different names seems very ***** and malicious. If this is indeed the culture which is being promoted by Telkom then I am truly disappointed and will be cancelling all my contracts with them if this is not addressed.
