Disgusted with Telkom and its incompetence!

Good day

I would like to warn anyone who might consider doing business with Telkom. On 24 May 2019, I logged an electronic request with Telkom to cancel my telephone line, as well as my ADSL. Although the request was received and confirmed on 31 May 2019. I was still billed for June 2019 (notice period). On July 9th, I visited the Telkom store and manually logged a cancellation. I received confirmation of this 2nd cancellation on August 19th. Needless to say and in proper Telkom fashion, I was billed in July AGAIN. This is when I again disputed the payment and cancellation.

Following over 2 months of back and forth with Telkom, they acknowledged their mistake and confirmed the above by sending me a statement confirming a zero balance (I have proof of this).

However, upon visiting my bank (FNB) on Saturday 25 January 2020 for an account upgrade, I was informed that I have been HANDED OVER by TELKOM on October 12th, 2019 to various institutions!!! FNB furnished me with the confirmation of the above.

Needless to say, I was gobsmacked and was not able to upgrade my account or process any application as my credit score was is now tarnished for a mere R761 (due to no fault of my own!!!). I literally found out by chance that my credit score is tarnished due to Telkom's incompetence! The most unfortunate part is that I have no idea how many institutions received this negative credit report from Telkom.

Since Saturday, I have been trying to contact Telkom on several occasions to dispute and resolve the above with no positive outcome. None of the staff have or are willing to assist, instead I have been sent from pillar to post. I am frustrated and at my wits end, as I not received favourable services from this organisation at all.

I have proof of the above communication mentioned and would encourage anyone to stay as far away from Telkom as possible. Disgusting service, *********** staff and poor work ethic.

I am interested to see if anyone will even respond or if this matter will be resolved!
