Disgusted in Telkom and their service
Good day,
I have been a telkom landline customer for more than 30 years. Telkom apparently migrated all the existing landlines to wireless or cordless phones that works with a sim card. Some of my neighbours informed me about these changes bescause their landlines were migrated. I phoned telkom but my line was suspended, i asked them what to do, and they re-opened my line in June 2019. They then told me that an order has been placed and in 4 to 6 weeks a courier will phone me for delivery and installation.
3 months later and still nothing. Today and last week i contacted Telkom again, they can't see any orders loaded on my account or name. Back then, i asked them if they do migrate me, can I keep my existing number and they said yes. Today, when I phoned again, they tell me my number has been discontinued and that I cannot use the same number. I was on a prepaid package, as to when I load airtime, they deduct the rental from there. Now they tell me they only offer post paid packages. I am a pensioner and cannot afford post paid packages and was happy the way my previous package worked.
I would like to know where my prepaid or migration to wireless order disappeared to. Why did they tell me in June that i can keep my number and will continue with prepaid?
I am really disappointed in Telkom because i have been a customer for more than 30 years and now i don't even have a landline anymore. No notice, no letters. Am i just to accept that my landline is discontinued?
My landline number was ***.
You can check since June, I have been contacting Telkom from ***. i have dialled 10210 about 8 times, 10213 also 8 times and the prepaid line 7 times since June and still no prepaid line or feedback.
I have also received an reference number once *** if it can help with anything.
My brother in Knysna also migrated, my sisters in Atlantis and Belhar also migrated and they are forever trying to get a hold of me because landline or prepaid is cheaper or free but i am still awaiting my order. I do not want post paid because when i phoned in June that was not an option. Now they tell me they only offer post paid. I am 61 years old and a pensioner and cannot afford post paid.
