Disgusted at the business ethics of Telkom

I had went into one of the Telkom branches to port over my SIM to Telkom from MTN thinking that Telkom would offer a good service. So far I am disgusted at the branches business ethics.

I dealt with a person by the name of Nadia Seedat at Mall of the South Telkom. I had distinctly asked if there will be a SIM fee to port my number over on my existing phone and I was told that there was no fee. To my surprise, a month later I was charged this fee. I went to The Glen Telkom to query – they said that I should have not been charged and was charged because a discount box was not ticked. The Glen Telkom had called the call center who’s system was down at the time and they asked them to get me to call the call center. When I called the call center that week I was then asked to go to the branch that I was ported over with. I then went to Telkom Mall of the South who then said that there is a MONTH to MONTH contract and a 24 MONTH contract and I was apparently linked to a MONTH to MONTH contract and therefore charged??? This was the first time ever that I had heard of this. I was then told that the person who dealt with my porting is on leave and will contact me on Wednesday morning. Instead of a manager contacting me, the same lady Nadia called and said that if she forgot to mention the above she apologizes but they cannot refund me or assist me further than an apology?

I regret moving from MTN onto Telkom as the branch service provided was absolutely terrible and will never recommend Telkom to anyone - and particularly ask people to becareful when using this particular branch (Mall of the South) as their service s****s is unhelpful and not informative. They will charge you for items you were not told about and later will be told that they cannot refund you.
