Disconnected ADSL while trying to move line to new provider, now no internet at all

I've been trying to move my line to a new provider since end of March. I was instructed by a callcenter agent to mail a disconnection form to ***. I did this, explaining what I wanted done. I received the autoconfirmation mail, but no human response. Towards the end of April, I phoned the call center again to find out what was happening, and was told no request was received from me. I went to a shop and explained again what I needed and was told that my lie would have to be converted to a normal line before it could be moved to a new provider. Last Tuesday the line was disconnected at the exchange and I was told to contact Pearl about it on ***. This number is always engaged. I've since had to place a new order for a DSL line (order ***A), but I've been informed that I can no longer have DSL internet at home since there is no infrastructure. How is this possible?? I work from home and rely on the internet to be able to work. I am facing loss of income because of this mess up. Needless to say, I am furious and wish there was a decent alternative to Telkom, but I am stuck.
