Disappointing Performance and Unreliable Service

As an internet service provider, Telkom left me feeling deeply unsatisfied with their services. I opted for their 20Mbps sim-only plan, costing R599 per month, and expected a stable and reliable connection for my daily internet usage. Unfortunately, my experience with Telkom was far from satisfactory.

During the day, the internet speed was just passable, allowing me to carry out basic tasks and browse the web. However, the real frustration began during peak hours, from 6 pm to 11 pm. The internet speeds would plummet to below 1Mbps, rendering the connection virtually unusable. This was a massive inconvenience, as I am a part-time student and rely heavily on a consistent internet connection to attend online classes and complete assignments.

Repeated calls to Telkom's customer support did little to resolve the issue, leaving me feeling helpless and frustrated. I was often met with long wait times, unhelpful solutions, and a general lack of urgency in addressing my concerns.

In today's world, where we are increasingly dependent on the internet for work, study, and leisure, a reliable and stable connection is paramount. Unfortunately, Telkom failed to deliver on this front. The unpredictable nature of their service rendered it almost impossible for me to effectively manage my time and responsibilities as a part-time student.

In conclusion, based on my experience, I would not recommend Telkom as an internet service provider. Their inconsistent speeds, particularly during peak hours, coupled with inadequate customer support, make it difficult for users to rely on their services for essential tasks. If you're looking for a dependable ISP, I would suggest exploring other options in the market.
