Difficulty signing up with Telkom.

It is absolutely impossible to deal with Telkom. And judging from other HelloPeter reviews, this channel is also pointless as I have not seen Telkom respond to any Reviews recently.

1. I had taken a month to Month LTE package with Telkom. When I tried to downgrade the package to something cheaper, I was told that I needed to wait for 24 months before I could do so. So I waited 24 months instead of cancelling. by then, the price increased from R499pm to R605pm. I've attempted to downgrade ever since, but keep getting rejected. Telkom rejects my applications for as little as R199pm, because I apparently "Don't Qualify." I don't understand the logic of being forced to pay R605pm, because I don't qualify for something as little as R199pm. Furthermore, I am never informed when the service is rejected. I always have to phone in to query as to why long the application is taking. only to find out that the application was rejected. At times I would get as far as confirming the product and delivery date, only to find out that I have been rejected. For the last 3 months, I have tried to cancel this LTE contract, which has long passed its 24 month contract (which I don't understand since I signed month to month). They have failed to even cancel my contract.

2. I had a landline disconnected in error back in 2018. It took me almost a year to get reconnected, and had to constantly deal with going back and forth with different consultants who had different theories as to why I had been disconnected and why I needed to reconnect.

3. I had an email address recently cancelled in error. When I tried to reinstate it, I was still unable to login as the passwords they provided never worked.

4. I recently cancelled my ADSL services since I had to sign up for Fibre. Telkom had constantly phoned me to alert me that they would no longer be replacing Copper lines, and advised us to apply for Fibre. I did just that and had to sign up with another company since Telkom Fibre is still not available in the area. When I had cancelled ADSL, I found out that my landline was also disconnected. I was left fuming as we have had this number for over 30 years. When I called in, I was told I can retain the number on VOIP. I accepted the T's & C's and was aware of the fee I needed to pay for not being a Telkom Broadband Customer. I also opted for month to month. I don't understand why I still keep getting declined. The first consultant told me it would be connected by the end of the week. At the end of the week I was told my order is delayed because there were no VOIP devices in stock. I informed them that I didn't order any devices. She then told me it would be processed in 12 to 48 working hours. I called in after 48 working hours, only to be told that there is no such thing as a turn around time of 48 hours and that it actually takes 7 to 10 working days. I argued that point but the consultant was adamant. So I called back after 7 to 10 working days, only to find out that My order was declined due to me not answering their calls. Why would I want to sign up for a product and deliberately ignore their calls??? So I was told I must restart the application and that now it would take 48 to 72 hours. How is it that no 2 consultants can agree on procedures, turn around times, and other things? are they confused as too their jobs?

Telkom is the worst company to deal with. If it had not been for a landline number that I had kept for 30 years, and my late dad's email address which is important to us, I would have no hesitation in cutting all ties with Telkom.
