Desperate, but no help from Telkom
I am desperate. I have a Telkom/Vumatel fibre internet connection that has gone bust. Over the phone, Vumatel says their line is good. Over the phone, Telkom says the same. After countless calls in which I did everything Telkom asked me to do (mainly rebooting and reconfiguring the router), one of the help-centre people said I should go to a Telkom store to have my router checked. I did this. The technician at the store said the router looked OK. Now I don’t know where to go anymore. Five or six calls later to Telkom, a kind man at the call centre said he would log a ticket for a technician to come out, and that someone would call me back in this regard. No one ever did. No technician ever came. I am paying R800-odd a month for a service that hasn’t worked now for two weeks, and there is no help from Telkom. I am utterly desperate. I work from home, and this affects the core of my livelihood. Please, please Telkom, send a technician out, that’s all I’m asking. I am absolutely desperate.
