Desperate ADSL Contract holder

It seems Telkom in Swellendam, Western Cape offers services they cannot provide. Our ADSL line was knocked over across the road and Telkom Technicians cannot fix it. So we are forced to pay for an expensive internet contract we don't receive anymore, as well as top up with data from another service provider to keep our business going. Telkom Consultants keep saying an Open Serve technician will be out each day we phone them (and that is a task in its own) and it took a whole day waiting at their local depo to find out that there is only one technician servicing a huge area despite the fact that there seems to be several people in the building. He did me a favour and had a quick look but had to rush off and we are left high and dry again. He said it may be a break in the cable across the road and will come out again but we just cannot trust Telkom after so many promises What can we do? They do not have a regional office in the western cape and we are reliant on empty promises from their call centre staff Surely a company unable to provide a service such as this should be taken to task. Is there a way out the contract if Telkom cannot honour it? I will have to try repair the broken wire myself across the road although the poles are quite high. Please help Telkom
