Deliberate and obstructive - failure to deliver

<p>For the past 5 months I have had extremely slow upload speeds - way below the 'best effort' minimum specified by Telkom.</p> <p> </p> <p>During this time Telkom have sent technicians around to test my line and it is clear that the problem is not a line fault. In fact my line is of a particularly high quality based on the SNR margin and attenuation figures. I am less than 1.5 km from the exchange. A few days ago a Telkom technician came to my house and confirmed yet again the problem was not on my line. He logged into the Telkom profiling system and had a look at the port initialization speeds that had been set by their technical dept. on the exchange.</p> <p> </p> <p>According to Telkom's system the port is being initialized at speeds well below the contractual speeds set by my ISP Mweb in their DSL product specification. I currently have an 8mbs down and 1 mbs up contract. I am currently getting around 6.5mbs down and 0.14 mbs up. Despite numerous daily updates / speed tests and complaints - Telkom refuse to resolve this matter.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have now had enough and will soon cancel my Telkom voice line and ADSL product and move to superior ISP. Telkom are utterly hopeless and in this case it is clear are being deliberately obstructive. </p> <p> </p> <p>If you are considering Telkom as an ISP - I strongly suggest you look elsewhere - I recently discovered there are many better alternatives in SA. </p>
