De*****ed by Telkom

I app**** for Internet Service via Telkom from 2018. I purchased the modem outright as I did not want to be on any contract. In Feb 2023, I was told there was a "special" 20mbps for R599 unlimited. I was paying R887 per month. I took this deal. Telkom debited me on 1 Feb and 1 March for R599. After that they started deducting R667. I queried this because the sim I have in the modem is only for Internet data, but because the SIM can also be used in a phone, they started charging me R3 per day for Sleep Yoga, saying someone pressed the "subscribe" button when they were on Google. Now how is that possible that Telkom thinks I am so stupid? For 5 years, the only billing I received is for the Internet data package i chose. Now the lady (who is working from home, most probably boiling beans for supper) tells me that Telkom has charged me for that "subsctiption". This means anyone who links to our home wifi can click "subscribe" to any offers, and I will be billed? I was always under the impression that YOUR cellphone or mobile number will be charged and these costs will be billed to your contract, or your prepaid data, whichever maybe the case. WHY is Telkom allowing this, or is this another way for them to make money? IT is not fair that they are billing these charges to my Internet bill. Not fair at all. And what is worse is that they are all working from home, and the customer service is atrocious. They drop the call on you after you were waiting on the line for over 30mins. They dont call you back. You hear their kids crying in the background, and they just tell you nonsence to get you off the line. I have asked the lady who was boiling beans, if they can please reverse these unauthorised charges, because it does not make sense. This is my Internet account, and not my personal Mobile account. Shouldn't whomever subscribed to whatever, be billed on their mobile contract? Does it mean that when I login to Dischem Wifi, I can "subscribe" to something and Dischem is billed? Does it mean if I login to my neighbors Wifi, and if I subscribe to Sleep Yoga, will they be billed? This does not make sense to me, but I am thinking that Telkom will loose all of its customers for this *****, as there are other Internet providers who are not de*****ing their customers. I am now in a panic because anyone can subscribe to whatever, while connected to my wifi and Telkom will bill me. They have no clue which mobile number connected to my wifi for this, and i think this is all a **** for them to make money. I think I should jump ship before Telkom goes down like the post office did. Mweb would be a better bet, and a safer bet that these ******.
