Debit order rejection fee

A mishap with my bank resulted in Telkom's debit order being returned unpaid. After calling Telkom to create an arrangement, I was informed by the consultant that I would be liable for a debit order rejection fee of R202.94. I made it clear to the consultant that this figure was something I had never been made aware of and that I wanted her manager to contact me. As is always the case, the manager was in a meeting...It was expressed to the consultant that I did not agree with the fee, and that I would not pay it until a manager explained it to me.

This fee is not something that is clearly stated on my contract, nor on any communication from Telkom . Telkom has been unforthcoming and purposefully tricky in the way that this has been handled and I request that this matter is escalated.
