Debit order changes and rejection fees

Called on the 15th of September 2020 to change my debit order date because I have a new employer who pays me later than my previous. The new salary date impacts my debit orders. I asked for my debit order to be changed from the 26th to the 30th The consultant said that I could and it would only be effective from October 30th. I asked what happens for the month of September, they said I would charged a rejection fee (R202.70) if there are no funds in my account. The alternative was to make a mutual payment 10 working days before the debit date so that the debit does not go through.

What is frustrating is I cannot speak to someone on a higher level. I am told that these are their processes. I was also not redirected to the complaints channel. A process like this unfair to the customer, all other service providers allow for immediate debit order changes.
