Debit early then won't unblock my number
Extremely disappointed in the pathetic service received. I have been with Telkom for as long as I can remember. In November, Telkom debited my account early, so there were no funds available. They then proceeded to suspend my number. I started receiving threatening messages from NuDebt, their debt collectors. I made the payment. Telkom then told me I should have paid them directly and that it would take 4–7 business days to reflect. NuDebt released the funds to Telkom 2 working days later. I phoned Telkom to locate the payment and unblock my line, as I had now paid for November and December (even though December’s payment wasn’t due for another two weeks). Nope — now it’s suddenly 7 to 10 working days. The best part is that I can’t even phone Telkom customer care with my own number. I cannot call my own service provider because my line is blocked. Would I even be able to reach an emergency line with a blocked number? It’s disgusting, Telkom. You can do better. Technology has progressed far beyond these petty excuses. I spent over an hour on the phone today, speaking to four different consultants, waiting for a manager — and just like a magical fairy tale, seconds before I actually “get through” to a manager, the call gets cut. And even more conveniently, the only way to get that call back is to phone again and explain the entire story to yet another consultant, who then tells you it’s impossible to speak to a manager. The last person I spoke to guaranteed me that a manager would phone me TODAY. Still waiting, and I bet these manager have already clocked off for the day At this point, I think I should apply to be a Telkom manager or supervisor. It seems they walk around with big titles, get paid big money, and do absolutely no work. It’s the middle of silly season, there are idiots on the roads, and if I get stuck somewhere alone and cannot phone anyone in an emergency, at least I have peace knowing that Telkom simply does not give a damn. They will still get paid — to simply exist — using technology from 20 years ago and operating entirely on their own mercy. Very disappointed.
