Dealing with Telkom is nothing but pain
It is a complete nightmare to deal with Telkom. Telkom is a listed company but has the mentality of an SOE's. What happened to SAA and Eskom will eventually happen to Telkom if nothing changes. My son has not been receiving his data for two months. He is in matric and is supposed to be doing on-line learning during lockdown but has fallen behind since he does not have data. We have been phoning Telkom on a daily basis with little or nothing to show for it. The reasons for not receiving data vary depending on who you talk (if you are lucky to speak to someone). No one shows interest in either offering a service or assistance. It sounds like they derive joy out of not assisting, and will look for any excuse not to assist. Only after visiting their branch, did we learn that the account has been suspended due to outstanding payment. Why outstanding payment, no one knows, as there is a debit order in place? I have been trying to pay the account manually and have been requesting for bank account details. When we eventually went through during one of the many calls we have made, the call centre ladies promised to email their banking account details but nothing has come through. My son can't wait another week unfortunately. One of the other reasons they offered was a technical issue, we have been waiting for their technician which they promised more than a week ago. My case number is ***3.
