Dead land line every week for three months.
In September 2019 I changed to fibre and gave Telkom the 30 days notice to cancel the ADSL on the line. I made it perfectly clear that I wanted to keep the landline and Telkom confirmed they would only cancel the ADSL. However when the 30 days expired the adsl line was cancelled and then ever since my land line phone is repeatedly out of order every singe week. Since October I have had nothing but problems with the land line being dead for 2-3 days every week. The line always goes dead on a Sunday morning just when I want to call sick elderly relatives overseas! Since that time the line comes back on but then is not working again goes off again then back on again. Several Openserve engineers have contacted me but none have been able to fix the problem. However the engineers do not set foot on my property to check the cabling. They seem to check everything from a sub box around the corner but I feel they should investigate further and check the cabling on the property. Now today my phone is dead again and I have a very ill mother in hospital in the UK who I cannot contact nor can anyone contact me from the UK. I am at my wits end and have logged another fault two days ago but not heard anything from Telkom except the usual reference number. What can one do to get service from Telkom? All these problems have only transpired since I cancelled the ADSL. Is it a Telkom conspiracy to punish you for cancelling Telkom ADSL and moving to a competitor? Telkom are continuing to send monthly accounts to me even though I am only connected probably for two weeks out of every four. If anyone can give me a contact name/number/email where I can speak to someone who can help it would be appreciated.
