Hello Peter

I have a contract with Telkom that expires in the next 6/7 months. The account was acquired telephonic ally and my 2 sim cards were delivered. I was told that I would pay R100 per month for both the cards ( free telkom to telkom calls and free whatsapp). That happened for the first two or three months if I’m not mistaken. Thereafter, the bills we’re R157,15 and I assume that was because of the vat increase, that’s fine.

I have been experiencing financial challenges which resulted in my bank account not having money to be devoted by Telkom. From September, I have been having this problem which resulted in my account owing more than usual. However, my concern is the fact that, even though I have been skipping debits, I have been making monthly cash deposits. I skipped two months towards the end of 2018 (September /October ) In December I paid R517 and the statement states that I owed R157 for Jan. I paid R160 and R157 was carried forward again because Telkom didn’t get money in my account whereas I had paid cash. In February I paid R160 again and for March I am told I owe R716.85...everytime I pay I end up owing more.

The consultant over the phone told me that when Telkom does not get money in my account they take it as a missed debit. Now my question is where does all the money I pay go to. Imagine paying today and owing the same amount tomorrow.
