Data disappearing or EXTREMELY expensive? Losing connection

Telkom If you had an e-mail address on your site where we can send a complaint – it would not be necessary for your customers to go to Hello Peter. If your agents actually called your customers like you promise when you fill in your details to get a call back – posts like this would not be necessary. If you reacted to posts on your Facebook Telkom complaints – this would not happen. My first contract with you was for 10 gig day, 10 gig night and no router. I did not have problems with payments or excessive loss of connection – I was a satisfied customer and I told others to go to Telkom when they complained about their service providers. In October last year my router broke. I went to a Telkom shop to find out what can be done. I was happy to find out I can upgrade my contract to include a router and get the same 10 gig day and 10 gig night time data for a little more than what I paid for the sim alone. I asked them if I can keep the sim from the 1st contract and put it on pre-paid for my son. They assured me I can and said as long as he recharges it at least once a month it will stay active. My documents had to be send to the back office for processing (which did not happen when I took out the 1st sim.) I waited but the promised sms to collect never came. After 2 weeks I went back to the shop and they had a million reasons why I still do not have anything after 2 weeks but eventually they did what they had to do and I had my new router and sim. I was assured the data I have on the Old sim would be there until month end and after that we have to recharge it because it would be prepaid. That night we checked the data and tried to set it up on my son’s phone to use as a hot spot – the data – almost 6 gig was gone. He tried to recharge a few days later – the sim was deactivated. They pulled up their shoulders and said buy another sim. No – you won’t get the data back. End of November they took the money for both the old and the new sim from my account. To this date it has not been refunded. In December I gave my studies a break and I was on leave from work – so all I did was go on Facebook for an hour or two at night and I checked my mails. Mid December I decided not to waste the night time data and to download movies after 12pm (Midnight). I started at 1am and finished at 5 am. Later that day I wanted to check my mail – I was out of data but all the night time data was there. Over December I recharged with 10 gig data 3 times – it did not take me through December. Still no movies, no videos, no downloads. I checked my laptop – it was still set-up not to download and install without asking first. January my 10 gig made it through a week and a half. I kept on recharging. February – 3 days and my data was finished. I kept on checking what could be eating my data and I kept on recharging with 3, 7 and 10 gigs. In March 3 days and the 10 gig was done. I recharged with 3 gig – less than 24 hours and it was gone. Meantime my night data added up and was of no use to me. I had more than 60 gig available but could not do anything with it even after midnight – anytime day or night. I tried – hoping to download my study materials with it so I can at least keep up with my studies – it refused to connect telling me I am out of data. Now in March the last time I check there was just over 3 gig available – not accessible to me. How is it that I did my work and studies with 10 gigs before I upgraded? Why is it that I can’t get into your site to check if my data was actually uploaded on the day or even first week of the new month – until the day the page jumps up to tell me I am out of data? Why do you take my daytime data if the night time data is available after 12 pm? Why can’t I use the night time data when the daytime data is finished – even after 12 pm. That means you are showing me I have night time data available but I can’t use it under any circumstances. Did the cost of data go up so much that 10 gig is now equal to 250mb on my old contract – after October 2021? At some stage I thought one of my neighbours might’ve hacked into my data and is using it – but I moved and I am now 18km from where I used to live and it is still happening. How can I pay R129 for 10 gig day and 10 gig night data and I am only connected for a few days. I lose connection at least once an hour and I can’t use the night data at all? I am not able to do my online classes or videos anymore or download my study materials like before because there is no data. I do my work on a work router with a different service provider. So right now I use my Telkom data for looking in on Facebook an hour or two at night for about 3 or 4 days and then not even that because my data is finish. You tell me – am I actually getting the data I pay for? How is it possible that it just disappear like that? I do nothing more but a lot less than before. Somebody at the shop activated my new sim – and she used her phone in the process – is it possible that she is rerouting my data to herself? Tell me why my daytime data is used after 12pm and why is my night time data sitting there totally useless until it expires. Why do I lose connection at least once every hour?
