Customers captured by *********** and ******** Telkom

I have cancelled my ADSL service with Telkom after not receiving the contracted service. At the time my two year contract has expired. I cancelled my debit order yet Telkom continued billing me for some time afterwards. The problem with Telkom is you can not write them a letter. Their call centre has no escalation procedures so you get stuck with their incompetence until you do what I did and cancel my contract and debit order. I received accounts which Idid not pay for obvious reasons. After a few months I received an e-mail from them warning me that I would be handed over to their legal people unless I pay the outstanding amount promptly. I rep****, giving them a full account of my problems. To this day they have not responded. The next thing my wife started receiving SMS's threatening her with legal action. Each time I responded and asked them to e-mail me with the details so that I can respond. It never materialised. The next thing I received a letter of demand from their lawyers Petterson & Pandaram Attorneys. I responded to them by giving them a detailed account of what happened. I kept on following up on my correspondence until they informed me that the matter was put on hold by Telkom. After a while we started receiving threatening SMS's again. When i spoke to the people it turned out that they are another debt collecting outfit. So Telkom move their debt around from one to the other agencies. The thing is since I contracted Telkom they have messed me around. Firstly I never got any service and secondly they now want to distort money from me for doing nothing. Not once did anybody make me feel like a customer. Somebody that they want to please and keep happy. I am never going to pay them. I am never going to use their services again. I am never going to recommend them. I can not believe that the once famous Telkom prior to 1994 has deteriorated to the mess it has become.
