Customer Service at its worse!
With the death of my father in May, I went to close his Telkom account a week thereafter; the consultant verbally confirmed the account has been closed. In June I received an invoice; in addition to previously going into the shop, I sent an email to them (***) which dealt with deceased cancellation and got no response. In the interim I tried getting further information on their website ito cancellations but it required you to register your account, which I felt was senseless since the account was going to be cancelled. In July, again, I received and I was livid. This time I went to the shop and spoke to a consultant whom indicated they, themselves, have issues with cancellations, which was really not my problem at that stage- he works for the company and should've responded with a better response. He then logged a call on which a lady phoned me to sent me all the relevant information. On 15 July I sent her the information. On 30 July I asked for feedback on the request with none so far and no communication as to the status quo on the matter. The whole situation is ridiculous. Invoices are continuously sent, and the required action is taken but they cannot give feedback on this matter which is dragging and on a personal level, its constantly reminding me of my father, who's loss is deeply felt. Lockdown has its challenges BUT companies should have various contactable platforms which is lacking in Telkom's case - concerning since they are a telecommunication company.
