Customer Communication Smoke and Mirrors

Landline and ADSL fault logged on 1 June 2016 (816CWK010616). We gave Telkom about a week before starting (and this has turned out to be a pointless exercise) to call for ANY information regarding resolution.

Managed to get the fault escalated on 11 June 2016 (868409) with a commitment date of 17 June 2016 at 12:00. No communication... No resolution... My wife stayed at home "just in case"... Fault persists...

Called again today to basically hear the same story regarding technicians having been assigned and e-mails for resolution to be sent (e-mails will now be sent to an even higher level of incompetence I guess?), and still no resolution.

Basically one of the biggest issues for me is the fact that the call centre staff do not seem to realise that some Caucasian customers can actually understand their background "joking" and unpleasantness when they chat to each other in Xhosa. The comments made about me as a customer are downright rude, not to mention the lack of professionalism. At least the surprise when I inform them of this fact seems sincere...

I truly wish that we had decent alternatives to this ugly parastatal. "Fed up" cannot even begin to describe the way I feel about my recent experiences with this useless state-owned entity. At least future competition will force them out of the market I guess?
