****py Telkom Strikes Again. No internet service for almost a month.
As of the the first week of September my ADSL line has been disabled. We are currently using Mweb as an ISP but have the DSL line with Telkom.
Initially when the fault was found, both the telephone line and the DSL was disabled, after calling Telkom, I was advised that the issue was due to maintenance being done in my area and thought nothing of it. My father, who is the account holder for Telkom queried the telephone line issue and was told it was a bulk fault, I followed up initially with a second fault stating that the DSL was not working as well.
After fixing the telephone line, something that was never communicated to us nor did a technician make contact with any one of us to make the appointment (which is procedure) the telephone line was 'repaired'. The line still has a hazy noise indicating that there is still a fault. The DSL line was never restored. There has been 2 escalations since and on Friday 21 September at approximately 8:30pm someone called the land line claiming to be from Telkom technical and arranged to come over on the next day. They never showed and my day was wasted waiting for someone who could not make the time for customer service.
When calling 10210 we had further escalated the issue but have still not received feedback from Telkom or any technicians as to when we would have our DSL line enabled.
It has come down to a point where I had taken another LTE contract so that I could get some urgent work and so we could make basic use of internet access which I have to now pay for for the next 2 year and we are paying Mweb for what is effectively downtime due to Telkom being incapable of resolving issues which seems to have been brought about by work they were conducting and patching up as they go along.
Telkom are not refunding my costs to Mweb nor will they be paying my data bills on my cell phone prior to taking an additional contract on a data package.
This issue due to Telkom not competing a task properly (I mean my phone line works but not my DSL?) has brought upon unnecessary additional expenses, ****py telephone line service and me wanting to remove Telkom as my DSL line provider.
For a company who wants to be the best service provider in the country, they offer extremely ****py service. And I say that from past experiences as this is not the first time my DSL did not work. It happened last year and Telkom took about 2 months to resolve the issue, although that was due to cable theft.
I would really appreciate it if someone from Telkom got in contact with me and raised the issue to the relevant channels as this is extremely frustrating to having to call you to follow up on work that should be done with effective customer service.
