Contradictory and vague responses
On Sunday 26 November 2017, with the help of my grandson, I ordered Telkom's "The November Big Deal", for convenience we did it online, and filled out the website forms as needed.
At 07:57AM, Tuesday 28 November 2017, I received an e-mail informing me that I had been rejected due to the "pre-vetting stage." At 09:29AM, Tuesday 28 November 2017, I received another e-mail stating that their online sales team had tried to contact me again - not that I had them attempt to contact me beyond the automated e-mails. They asked me to e-mail them sensitive information like my ID number, contact number, and full name - all of which I had provided to the website when making my order online on Sunday.
What infuriates me, is I pay my landline account from Telkom almost religiously. With these two e-mails, am I accepted or not? If I am, they have all my details - so why should I provide them over e-mail, which I understand is a major security risk to me. If I am not accepted to receive this offer, why not? Am I being rejected because I am retired? Am I being rejected because I once had an ADSL service from Telkom that I cancelled because they were unable to provide me with a consistently functional service? Is it because I am not technology savvy and exercise my right to representation by calling on a family member who is to help me? I don't understand why I should be rejected, considering that I have a contract with a more expensive cellular service provider, which offers better service. Surely if I am good enough for them, I am good enough for Telkom, and their Mobile division.
Then again, Telkom deserves the reputation they have, and are constantly working hard to keep it.
