Contract not Cancelled on Request

After various attempts I still have not been assisted with my dispute. I would appreciate your assistance in this regard.

I received a sms from Telkom during August 2016, stating that I am due for an upgrade on the above mentioned number which expires 12 September 2016. On 25 August 2016 at approximately 13h30 I visited the Telkom Alberton City branch. My request was to upgrade to a cellphone contract after which the consultant advised that I am not able to upgrade to a voice package from a data package. I then asked him for advice on how to be able to get a voice contract. He then advised that I should cancel the data contract and take out a new contract. He went onto his system and informed me that my contract has been cancelled.

As I could not yet decide which contract I wanted to take out, I told him I will browse around and return to the store for the new contract. I then left the store, being under the impression that my contract has been cancelled.

In the meantime I then made my decision and took out a new contract, to replace the contract I cancelled. I took out the contract for ********** .

I then received my September 2016 Telkom Statement where I noted that I have been charged for this contract, which have been cancelled according to my knowledge.

Not only was I billed for the part of September after the expiry of my contract (R243.60) but I was also billed for October 2016 at a higher charge (R505.00) where I normally paid R249.00 for this contract. This is unacceptable.

I have made numerous attempts to have this query resolved, but to no avail.

On 06/10/2016 I contacted the Telkom Call Centre where I spoke to Thembeka Myeza. She asked for my Cancellation form, which I was surprised at. I received no cancellation form on the day I went to the store to cancel my contract.

On 15/10/2016 I went back to Telkom Alberton City to request the cancellation form. I was then asked to complete a form of which I asked for a copy. But this still does not resolve my issue, the contract was cancelled prior to this. The consultant said he cannot assist me and I need to contact the Call Centre to resolve my account query.

I then contacted the Call Centre again and spoke to Sifiso Radebe where my call was ended.

On 31/10/2016 I contacted the Call Centre again and requested to speak to a supervisor or manager. My details was taken and I was told that my call will be returned. I have until today not received any call.

I then again returned to the Telkom store to request video footage to prove that I was there on that day to cancel the contract. The store manager, Dindie, advised that they only keep footage for one month and they are not able to assist me.

Good day,

Yes that is the number that was supposed to be cancelled in August. Please note that I completed another Cancellation form on 15/10/2016 (Case ********** 4) after the consultant could not provide me with a copy of the cancellation I did on 25/08/2016. If my cancellation in August has been accepted, the disputed charges of R243.60 and R505.00 as per my September statement, should also be credited against my account.

Thank you for your input regarding this matter.
